When you first meet someone off of SA or any other SD dating site, you are exchanging information and commuicating through your keyboard. Here are some tips for messaging etiquette.

1. Know the difference between you're and your. Preferably, use you are instead of you're; that goes for every other contractions.

2. Know the difference between two, to, and too. Please.

3. Know the difference between there, they're, and their. Again, try to use "they are" instead of "they're"

4. I don't know why, but girls sometimes space out the mechanics from their words. For example: Instead of writing like this, girls will write like this. ---> Instead of writing like this , girls will write like this . <--- See the spaces where the (.) and where th (,) are? Yeah, don't do that.

5. Please do not put any emojis while texting. A :-) is fine once and a while, but the laughing/crying emoji is not acceptable when texting a potential SD. Treat him as business and not a friend from math class.

6. Always text him back. If he texts back with "haha" or "lol" and you don't have anything else to say, then don't text him back, obviously. However, if he texts you saying "Hey, want to meet up for dinner tonight?" then you need to text him back. Try to text back in less than 30 minutes.

7. Always check your spelling and grammar. He is a professional, you should be too.

8. Have better diction and please, know what the word "diction" means.
